AskNowTexas is a virtual reference cooperative that currently serves over a dozen academic and public libraries throughout the state of Texas.
Because AskNowTexas makes use of volunteers and open source tools, this program is available to libraries that may otherwise not be able to provide virtual reference services. In this presentation, we will discuss how the service operates using freely available Internet tools including Meebo, Jing, Google Docs, and Gmail.
